Race Day Schedule - Saturday, May 13th
Each year, the Avera Race brings together family, friends, cancer survivors and others - all racing toward a common goal: to enhance cancer care for people right here in Sioux Falls and surrounding communities. Every penny stays local to help your families, friends and neighbors get the treatment and support they need.
am - Shuttle buses begin
7:00 am - Avera Race Expo and Survivor Pavilion opens
7:15 am - Survivor group photo
7:40 am - Song tribute to all Survivors
7:45 am - Warm up with Jackie Haggar-Tuschen
8:00 am - Race begins (Please note that race starts will be staggered and chip timed)
10K race begins
Breakfast buffet opens
8:15 am - 5K race begins
8:20 am - 1.5 and 3 mile walks begin
A set of bleachers will be available for all teams wishing to
take a group photo. Teams are responsible for taking their own photos.
Photo area is located near the Survivor Pavilion.
Team Awards (Main stage) and the Avera
Race Expo, Breakfast Buffet, and Survivor Pavilion (Survivor Pavilion is for
ALL cancer survivors and their families).
*1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the 5K and 10K races will receive a gift card donated by the Great Outdoor Store!

Bring Your Family and Friends
can participate in the Avera Race Against Breast Cancer. The aerobic warm-up,
fun walks, expo area and cool-down breakfast are all designed for family fun.
(Please no dogs or rollerblades - we expect a large crowd and want everyone to
first 5,800 registrants will receive a nylon backpack and other giveaways!
Registered adults will receive an adult unisex long-sleeve loose fit performance t-shirt.
Registered children will receive a children's unisex long-sleeve loose fit performance t-shirt.
T-shirt size substitutions may be necessary. Only the first 5,500 registrants are guaranteed a shirt.
Free short-sleeved, youth t-shirts will be given to the first 500 children who arrive with a registered adult on race day.
ALL cancer survivors will receive a complimentary survivor long-sleeved, t-shirt - (PINK for breast cancer, PURPLE for other cancers). Please note if you are a survivor on the registration form or during the online check-out process.
